We had a particularly challenging engine problem with our truck and Joe and the crew worked diligently to get it solved. Called to get a quote for a classic car repair, but unfortunately they don't perform work on anything older than ~2000 (I'm sure some 90s car model years that were carried over may be able to get work done, worth a call to check at least). But they were very polite and promised a call back Monday with recommendations of where to go. Nice people.

I’m really digging the service and family feel of Chris’ Auto. I needed both front axles replaced (which were back ordered) and they always kept me updated all along the way. Once the parts were available, they performed the service seamlessly with no issues. Even gave me a ride to pick up my car. We even take our second car to Chris’. I was impressed with the comprehensive nature of Chris’s inspection. They reported systems that were in good shape and a few systems that needed attention. Repair quote was reasonable, and final bill was slightly under the quote. They are very easy to work with and follow up on any promises made.

So glad to have found a local, family owned and operated shop to keep my 2019 Crosstrek maintained! Everyone I interacted with was friendly and knowledgeable. Required vs future/optional maintenance items were explained in terms I could understand and I really appreciated how they clarified what was truly necessary and why. So often at the dealerships I feel pressured and upsold to address every little item and I so appreciate how Chris’ team approach car care. Prices were fair and the work was high quality! Here’s to many more miles and roadtrips!

Chris’ Engine & Auto Repair is a great auto repair and maintenance facility. Was greeted with respect. Remembered who I was even though I have not been to the shop for a while. The new online inspection report was great to see the issues in writing and the pictures included felt they took them time with my vehicle. Joe followed up with a phone call to discuss the inspections. Joe provided me with estimates for all the issues they found and recommended which ones should be completed in a timely manner. Very professional and IMO honest. Lastly, I used their shuttle service to take me home. It was great. Too bad they are no longer providing rides to Vallejo anymore but completely understand their decision.

I was getting vibrations thru the steering wheel and brake pedal in my Tacoma. Took it to Chris’ Auto (I’ve used them in the past) and was again happy with the work and cost. Also had brake flush, coolant flush, and both front and rear differential oil changed.

I’ve been taking my Highlander (300k miles) to Chris for the past 3 years. He and his outstanding crew have always provided excellent service - maintenance and if needed, replacement parts at a reasonable price. Never an issue with quality or responsiveness. Recently, the car would start only intermittently and despite a full schedule, Chris had me bring the car in that day. Diagnosed 6 month old battery as marginal and replaced it free of charge. Highly recommend.

Fantastic service! Checked emissions warning message & determined problem was under warranty. They called Honda dealership & verified. They referred me to Honda for the warranty work which saved me "tons of money". I took my truck to Chris’s engine repair shop at the recommendation of the mechanic that I know. Boy was I not disappointed! I dropped in and showed them the video of what the issue was. They immediately scheduled me to come in early next week. Once they had a diagnosis and knew they had to order the parts they prioritized my truck because we were leaving for a fifth wheel vacation soon. The communication was excellent and I am very, very satisfied with the results!

I took my car to Chris’ Auto Repair for a check engine light on my Hyundai Accent. The code that came up was a P0420 for the catalytic converter. The very nice mechanic explained that I should take the car to Hyundai to see if the software in my car needed to be updated before replacing the converter. After taking it to Hyundai, it turned out the car simply needed a software update and my check engine light turned off. This place saved me from having to spend thousands of dollars (and saving me from having to pay late fees on my car registration since I couldn’t pay for the renewal till my car passes a smog check). I cannot thank them enough and will continue to bringing my car here for future repairs.

We just had one of our vehicles serviced here. We know from experience that it will be properly serviced. This time there were issues that needed attention. They diagnosed the problem, obtained the needed parts and returned our vehicle to it's sweet running again and more quickly than anticipated. Yes, it wasn't cheap, but, good auto mechanics don't come cheap.

Chris and his staff were incredibly helpful when my car broke down on the highway with me and my 2 kids. They gave us a ride back to Walnut Creek, and the car was all fixed in a couple days. The price was very reasonable too. I would highly recommend this shop, and I will be back the next time I need help with my car even though they are a bit out of the way since I live in a different city. The longer drive is well worth it!

I found Chris's from the AAA website, they're an approved shop. Zack mans the front desk, we spoke several times. He's kind, professional, knowledgeable and practical. I spoke to him on a Friday and he said they would order a part, it should arrive Tuesday and I could pick it up Tuesday. On Tuesday I got a call midday it was ready. Super impressed by the prompt turnaround and accuracy of the timeline. I also asked if he could have a technician check on my brakes since Big O told me they were practically metal to metal and would need new pads and rotors. The tech checked and zack let me know that wasn't the case, I had a few more months. He told me if a family member had asked him, this is what he would tell them. I really really appreciated the honesty and the compassion. They could have told me yes replace it all and just took the sale. I'll be recommending Chris's anytime I can and likely be back for my brakes (despite moving out of Benicia)
